Parents are integral to the school. Their active participation creates an atmosphere of cordiality and goodwill. Having chosen an educational approach whose intent they value, it would be important to associate with the school so that there is harmony and consistency at home and at school.  In addition to relating to the school in the context of their child, we encourage them to be involved in various activities of the school and share their experiences, insights and skills. Some broad areas where parents have been associated are :

  • Teaching optional classes
  • Assembly presentations / guest lectures
  • Participating in dialogues / retreats arranged at the Study Centre
  • Arranging / planning field trips, work experience or excursions for children and accompanying them.
  • Volunteering to assist in the Art / Music areas or at the office / library when required

A warm, friendly relationship between teachers and parents is a characteristic feature of the Valley School since its inception.

A small group of parents meet regularly in the school, once a month, in an informal manner, to explore and share experiences and insights on parenting, education and related issues.
